Hello, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Mary, an Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator in Maryville, Tennessee, nestled near the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. That little corner of the world—and my love of stamping—is the inspiration behind the name Stampin’ in the Smokies.
I created this site as a warm and encouraging place to share something I truly love: making beautiful things and using them to connect with the people who matter to us.
Making Connections Real Again
We live in a world where it’s easier than ever to stay in touch. We can send a text, leave a comment, click a “like,” or post a quick birthday message in just a few seconds.
And those things certainly have their place.
But there’s just something different about opening the mailbox and finding a card that someone chose—or even better, made—just for you.
A handmade card says, I thought about you.
It says, You were worth my time.
And whether that card says Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Thank You, I’m Sorry, I Miss You, or simply Thinking of You, it creates a little moment of connection that a text or social media post just can’t quite replace.
That’s one of the things I love most about card making.
You Don’t Have to Be “Crafty”
Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about stamping, card making, tools, techniques, products, and—of course—the occasional creative mistake! I’m looking forward to sharing those experiences here.
But I also want Stampin’ in the Smokies to be a place where everyone feels welcome.
You don’t need to consider yourself artistic. You don’t need a room full of supplies. And your cards certainly don’t have to be perfect.
Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration, a few good supplies, and someone to show you how to get started.
Here on the blog, I’ll be sharing card ideas, techniques, tips and tricks, favorite crafting products, class information, and plenty of inspiration to help you create cards you’ll be proud to give.
As an Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, I’ll also share some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products and ideas for getting the most out of the supplies you already have.
Most of all, I hope this becomes a place that encourages you to create something and send it.
Because the best part of making a beautiful card isn’t keeping it on our craft table.
It’s imagining the smile on someone’s face when they open the envelope.
