Okay, I LOVE a good fun fold. A handmade card is special on its own, but give it a twist, a fold, an interactive element and the wow factor goes to 11! I came across this one today by another demonstrator and had to try it. The card base is all one piece, the fun folding part comes from a few extra cuts and some clever scoring. I created a template that I will share with you, too.

It’s call an expanding bridge fun fold, and you can see why. The center of the card forms the “bridge” and opens up to show you the entire card.
For my version of this card, I used various elements from the “All Wrapped Up” suite. The papers in this suite are AMAZING. They are single-sided specialty paper with lots of shimmer and shine, which is unfortunately kind of tricky to photograph. But you can see the colors better HERE.
The front (left side) panel of the card is made using panels of Misty Moonlight, Real Red and Basic White. The branches are all cut using the dies from the Wrapped Greenery bundle which fit perfectly to one of the patterned papers – love when a suite offers that! The bow is from the All Wrapped Up bundle, also part of this suite, stamped in Real Red and cut using the die from the bundle. The sentiment I used from the Pretty Poinsettia bundle, also stamped in Real Red.
I’ll admit, it took me a couple of test runs to get the cuts & score lines on this one, but once you get it, I am sure you’ll go back to this card base again and again!

It does fold into a unique shape, too, so when you send this to someone, they will know right away that this card is extra-special! This is sized to fit a standard A2 envelope.
Here’s the template for the card base. Will you be giving this one a try? Let me know in the comments!
